EMU BLACK
The EMU Black is a class-leading, stand-alone engine management system, designed to operate the most advanced and complex engines available. It is a successor of our proven system, EMU. Throughout EMU’s lifetime we collected lots of data that allows us to substantially improve the device hardware and software.
EMU Black targets race cars, road cars, motorcycles, boats, and stationary engine applications.
The EMU Black controls fueling, ignition and auxiliary systems on 1-12 cylinder engines including those with drive-by-wire throttles and VVT.
It can drive up to 6 passive or 12 smart coils directly and does not require external amplifier/power modules to achieve this. Sophisticated drive-by-wire strategies provide a wide range of throttle control along with advanced plausibility (fault/error) checking for safety.
Free, easy to install firmware upgrades further improve system capabilities (e.g. new strategies, trigger patterns, CAN data streams).
The EMU Black features more built-in value than any other aftermarket ECU. It easily matches the functionality of other stand-alone management systems with multiple inputs and outputs. Unlike many other ECU systems, the EMU Black has built-in wideband lambda input (Bosch LSU 4.2, and LSU 4.9 sensors wire directly in), MAP control connector (4 bar MAP sensor on board), 2 EGT probe inputs and an input to directly connect a Flex Fuel ethanol content sensor. All of this provides greater flexibility, reduces costs and negates the requirement for external or supplemental signal conditioning control systems and the associated wiring that other management systems require.
TECHNOLOGY
The EMU Black is assembled according to IPC-S-815A standards to ensure high reliability of the product. The device is manufactured on an automated assembly line with optical inspection, automatically tested including burn-in. The PCB board quality and design, special surface coating and IP60 enclosure keeps the device operational in the harshest environments. The components used allow continued operation in a very wide temperature range (AECQ-100 GRADE 2 (-40 to +105˚C).

EMU CLASSIC
We are excited to announce a new and improved version of our popular EMU engine control unit: the EMU Classic.
Our goal at ECUMASTER is to provide the best possible products at an affordable price. The new EMU Classic is evidence of our dedication to that goal. We have improved the design of the EMU based on customer feedback and have kept the price at a similar level.
The main improvements are as follows:
Improved ignition outputs allowing the use of more than one active coil on one output,
Separate +5V output regulator for external sensors,
Highly protected H-Bridges (stepper outputs),
Galvanic separated USB port,
Compact CNC machined, black anodized enclosure (147x62x30 mm vs 155x120x45 mm)
Both EMU and EMU CLASSIC use the same firmware and software package.
EMU Classic is designed to operate the most advanced and complex engines presently available. The EMU CLASSIC controls fueling, ignition and auxiliary systems on 1-12 cylinder engines including those with drive-by-wire throttles1 and VVT.
The adaptable firmware means the most awkward crank trigger patterns can be utilized allowing future proofing for new patterns not yet released. It can drive up to 6 passive or 12 smart coils directly and does not require external amplifier/power modules to achieve this. Sophisticated drive-by-wire strategies provide a wide range of throttle control along with advanced plausibility (fault/error) checking for safety. The EMU features more built-in value than any other aftermarket ECU. It easily matches the functionality of other stand-alone management systems with multiple inputs and outputs. Unlike many other ECU systems, EMU has built in wideband lambda input (Bosch LSU 4.2 sensors wire directly), MAP control connector (4 bar MAP sensor on board), 2 EGT probe inputs and an input for directly connecting a Flex Fuel ethanol content sensor. All of this provides greater flexibility, reduces costs and negates the requirement for external or supplemental signal conditioning control systems and the associated wiring that other management systems require. Map switching, launch control, adaptive Lambda control, flex fuel and wheel slip control are among many of the software controllable options available.

Advanced Display Unit
We are proud to announce the new ECUMASTER Racing Dash family of products. We designed the ADU5 and ADU7 in response to market demand for a cost-effective dash display with logging capabilities. Our specific goal was to create a fully customizable, feature-rich, quality solution for competitive drivers. We consulted professional drivers and race engineers and designed the ADU to exceed their requirements.
Above all, the ADU is designed to display all critical information in an easy to read manner, along with a comprehensive strategy for displaying alarms.
Our Advanced Display Units are available in 5” and 7” versions. Both versions feature high resolution, high visibility anti-glare screens, guaranteeing perfect visibility in any lighting conditions. The ADU comes with multiple pre-configured pages, which can be customized by the end user to display data required at every race stage (e.g. practice, qualification, race, troubleshooting, etc.). Pages may be changed manually or automatically (based on defined conditions). Each channel displayed on a page (gauges, icons, texts, etc.) can be easily modified in real time using user-friendly Windows based software. Our comprehensive overlay system facilitates a multiple page display for important data (e.g. low oil pressure, best lap, etc.) independent of the actual page displayed.
The ADU is also equipped with 15 ultra-bright RGB LEDs which can be used as an advanced gear-dependent shift light and can be modified by user-defined logic (for alarms, low fuel level, etc.).Using IR beacons or a GPS system, the dash turns into a powerful lap timer with a predictive timing function. By selecting the Qualification page, you enable a “Qualification Mode” which uses advanced predictive lap timing based on an automatically updated “best” reference lap.
User configurable timers can be adjusted for additional functionality (pit stop timer, etc.). The ADU also supports thermal cameras for monitoring brake discs or tyre temperatures (up to 16 points per tyre).Communication with other devices in the car is provided via two built-in, independent CAN-BUS communication ports. CAN templates are provided for most popular ECUs, and are fully configurable, allowing you to connect our hardware to virtually any engine management system. To ensure that all features work seamlessly, our device is based on a 32-bit automotive controller paired with a state of the art graphics processor. This combination provides the perfect working environment for any engineer or driver and guarantees anti-aliased, high-quality graphics at 50 frames per second. For further data analysis, data channels can be logged to a USB Flash drive with a frequency of up to 500Hz.All of these “Must Have” features and more are housed in a rugged, specially CNC machined, black anodized enclosure.
Free, easy to install firmware upgrades further improve system capabilities (e.g. new strategies, CAN data streams).

PMU
Decades ago, the critical electronic components in a race car were the ignition coil and points. Race cars now feature advanced engine management systems, antilock brake systems, paddle shifters, dataloggers, radios, electric pumps, fans, and lights. All components need to be controlled at the correct moment, and all components require circuit protection to prevent damage or fire.
Traditionally, fuses and relays served all of those purposes, but they have many disadvantages like complicated wiring looms, sensitivity to vibration/temperature, and difficult diagnostics.
All of these problems can be solved by using intelligent power management units (PMUs). Our newly developed PMU unit is at the forefront of technology. It provides 16 high current outputs (and use of multiple units if more outputs are required).
One of the main advantages of the PMU is continuous current sensing and self-resetting function if the current exceeds a defined level. All output state, voltage and current information can be logged and transmitted via a CAN bus to dash displays to inform drivers of potential problems.
An additional advantage of the PMU system is the ability to define logic for controlling outputs. This is done with data from analog input channels or CAN bus data, and math operations can be defined for each channel. The PMU is also equipped with LED indicators to show the status of each output.
With use of CAN bus keypads or steering wheel switches, all wiring is vastly simplified and lightened.
Two unique features are the inbuilt accelerometer and gyro for logging and “inertia switch” in case of accident.
TECHNOLOGY
The PMU is assembled according to IPC-S-815A standards to ensure product reliability. The device is manufactured on an automated assembly line with optical inspection, and automated testing (including burn-in). The PCB material and design, special surface coating and IP60 enclosure ensure reliability even in the harshest environments. Carefully selected components allow for continuous and reliable operation across a very wide temperature range (AECQ-100 GRADE 1 (-40 to +125˚C).
